No Baby Yet

I woke up every hour of the night.....waiting for morning to come!! Finally, it was 6am and I started getting ready for the BIG DAY! I imagined what it would be like to hold our little baby in my arms, to welcome him into our family and to see his beautiful face.

And then I saw that I had a message on my phone. Doc called at midnight to say that the induction was cancelled due to a test result that came in from Oahu. Baby's lungs were borderline.....How does that happen with an estimated 9lb & 43 week old baby???

We were bummed but decided to put our trust in the Lord. He knows the future. He has a plan. He cares for us more than we could ever know. So, we decided to stop waiting around and begin living life. No more naps. No more false alarms.

The day that started out as a downer became the BEST day since moving to Maui. Ryan and I hit the beach to stand up paddleboard. It was absolutely gorgeous morning. We came home and ate a spinach salad and green smoothie. I spent a few hours studying at the bookstore and had the whole Asato clan over for dinner. Enjoying God's creation, eating healthy and being with friends made the day PERFECT!

God is good and we're trusting in Him!

Tomorrow is a BIG BIG DAY!!

Tomorrow we are having baby #4 and our lives will drastically change!!! Doc is predicting a NINE POUND BOY and they are planning to induce before he gets any bigger. Riley was 8lb 11oz and we had complications at birth so they're hoping to avoid this. As we prepare for tomorrow, I'm thinking back to our other kids births and what life was like before the big day. They've all grown so much and it's amazing to see what they looked like as babies and how different they look today.

Here's Riley.....she was our alert & most active child...born 2 weeks overdue.
Here she is today.....kinda looks similar to her baby picture yeah??
Here's Malia....born 2 weeks before her due date. A little sleepy...
Here she is today....much lighter hair and different features...
Now here's the big whopper...our boy Lucas. Dark hair, dark eyes, looks asian.....
Not anymore!! He has golden brown hair and looks mostly like his dad!!
This is one of my favorite pictures of the girls loving on their daddy...
Now look at them...they can't all fit in one bed anymore. But at least they try!
Here Ryan and I are....all in love....no kids...no responsibilities. We watched many movies, worked out at the gym together, walking the beach, etc.
Then, our greatest joy in life came when Riley was born. The freedoms we had before were nothing compared to the everyday blessing of having a child light up our lives.
Then Malia....
Then Lucas....our asian baby....
Then Lucas our white baby....
And tomorrow is full of surprises as we welcome this little one into our lives. We are so thrilled and feel completely blessed that God would allow us to have another child. Hope I can sleep tonight....I just can't wait!!

Riley's 6th Birthday

Riley had 3 wishes for her 6th birthday....Fun Factory and Ruby's Restaurant with the family and then cake & ice cream with all her cousins. So, we started the morning at Kaahumanu Shopping Center for some games at Fun Factory.
Riley hit the Jackpot on one of her games and got 100 tickets!!!
Even Lucas got into the action!
At Ruby's diner, a balloon artist made Riley a tinkerbell, Malia a butterfly and Lucas a sword!
The staff sang to Riley and she got a chocolate ice cream sundae!! No wonder she wanted to go to Ruby's!
Then we met the whole crew at Uncle Davin & Aunty Marissa's house for cake and ice cream.
Joce, Ryan and Jon all showed up wearing the same t-shirt!
Riley picked out her favorite cake......Strawberry Shortcake!!
Then we all went outside to play at the church parking lot. Riley got rollerblades for her birthday and was thrilled to give them a try.
Malia got Riley's old rollerskates and was pretty stoked to have them all to herself.
Even Lucas got in on the action with Sophias pretty pink bike.
Grandpa got his exercise in....racing all the kids around the parking lot.
It was a fun birthday celebration! Can't believe our little girl is growing up so fast!

Holiday Activities

Girls begged for pillow pets and we surprised them on Christmas Eve!! They were so thrilled!
Lucas got a train set in the mail from Papa and Nana Husted!! Now he can stop rolling his cars up and down my pregnant belly!
The girls are having fun enjoying all their gifts!
Aunty Jocelyn came up with a fun idea to cut out, bake and decorate cookies on our Holiday break. The kids had a blast!
Great grandma Asato flew in from Oahu for a few days and Great grandma Shima enjoyed the company. It was nice to all be together.

Malia's Preschool Christmas Program

Malia was the prettiest wiseman in her preschool Christmas program. Over 300 people attended and it was extremely well done. We were so proud of her!!
The kids finished their performance by singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "The 12 Days of Christmas Hawaiian Style".

Our Favorite Beach

We found a great beach that is just 10min from our house with no other people in sight. Ryan and I have enjoyed walking the beach together and the kids love building castles and running up and down the sand hills. Can't believe it's February and we can enjoy 80 degree temps!!
